Tobii has stepped into the Battlefield of Game Technology. Using the new “eye tracker” to attract the game community, it is expected to go well with any games that support Tobii, which up until now is not a lot. Honorable mention games are Assasin’s Creed, Mankind Divided, and Grand Theft Auto are enough to create the gamers head on.

Tobii’s latest Alienware 17 is a laptop configured for video gaming. Using your EYES to control everything on the screen, from powering up to switching down. All are possible because of Tobii’s Eye Movement Sensor which is placed under the monitor (right below the screen). It follows the actions of your both eyes using video cameras and illuminators.

The Applications are now available for this type of breakthrough in Game Technology, surprisingly, because Tobii was not popular amongst the people who doesn’t need it. Tobii Dynavox, a part of Tobii Group, has helped thousands of people who are unable to speak to support for Augmentative and Alternative Communication. People suffering from different disabilities like Rett syndrome, autism, aphasia, ALS, muscular dystrophy and more can communicate using monitor screens and movements of their eyes.

Tobii has three little red dots which are the sensing units for eye movements. ***

What is Eye Tracking exactly? It is a technology that allows the computer to understand what you are looking at. You don’t need to move the mouse’s left, right to be able to turn left and right. It is as if the player is on the screen. It creates a different experience to users. Stare at the Logo of the Alienware, and it will power on automatically. IT IS SUPPORTED BY WINDOWS which made it convenient for no other installation or configuration required. When you use it outside of the game on normal windows, the cursor of the screen will be directed where you look at with at least 85% accuracy.

Like many current gaming laptops, the Alienware 17 uses a Nvidia 10-Series graphics card. It is a GTX 1070 chip rather of the top-tier 1080, though 1070 is still quickly sufficient to run the newest games, consisting of virtual truth titles at the highest graphics setting. Alienware 17 does not have a Nvidia G-Sync screen that makes the monitor’s stuttering and breaking decrease which is disappointing to some players. The Alienware 15 can configure its display in a way that the screen would not crash, and it was cheaper. Nobody wants to pay an upgrade of $ 522.00 for that.

Try their free GAME at their website and see for yourself if you like the feel of it, many players still wanted to use the old fashion mouse because they are not used in using the eye tracker tech, but overall this device would take a long time to be able to be fully accepted in the market.
